NC GreenPower is working to build North Carolina's supply of renewable energy sources. As with any new undertaking, converting renewable resources, such as the sun and wind, into electricity initially costs more than the traditional energy sources. And your contribution can make a big difference in our efforts to protect North Carolina’s environment.

Whether you use a little energy or a lot, you can be a part of protecting the environment with NC GreenPower. Your contribution will help us add more renewable energy to North Carolina’s power supply.

We all want the healthiest environment possible now and in the future, but often it’s hard to know how we can make a difference. Now you can. Join the others who have signed up to provide a greener North Carolina - it's in your power!

Three easy steps to sign up

1. Call your electric utility. Find out if your utility is participating. (Or, link to your participating utilities' Web site from our participating utilities page and sign up electronically, which takes only a minute!)

1. Ask to be a NC GreenPower contributor.
2. Your electric utility will add your tax-deductible contribution to your monthly bill. The entire amount of your contribution will then be sent to NC GreenPower.

How NC GreenPower works

Direct contributions to NC GreenPower
In addition to the easy, monthly subscription option for participating in the NC GreenPower program, you may also make one-time direct contributions to the program. Direct contributions are also an option if your utility is not currently participating in the program.
