FEBRUARY UPDATE:
23,864 blocks of NC GreenPower purchased per month will support 28,636,800 kWh of cleaner, renewable energy. The amount of coal consumed annually to produce an equivalent amount of energy is 23,195,808 lbs. The generation of this amount of renewable energy will approximately offset the equivalency of:

• 59,590,030 lbs of carbon dioxide (CO2) in a year
The annual reduction of indirect CO2 emissions is environmentally equivalent to:
• 4,583,848 trees planted OR 72,541,954 miles not driven OR 1,765,187 days not driven

239 blocks of NC GreenPower carbon offset subscribed per month will offset 119,500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, which will approximately offset the annual equivalancy of:
• 1,434,000 miles not driven by an average, mid-sized car

Total generators as of February 28: 234

  • Solar: 219 (including 5 large solar)
  • Wind: 7
  • Small hydroelectric: 4
  • Landfill methane gas: 3
  • Biomass – clean wood waste: 1
