UPCOMING EVENTS - Volunteers needed!



Durham Bulls
You pick the game day. We'll supply the tickets! – The Durham Bulls 2009 season runs until the first week of September. We would like to issue a call for volunteers to staff our table on the main concourse for ANY GAME that works for you! We will have a minimum of 5 opportunities. The 2009 NC State Fair is approaching, and we would
just like to gauge your interest
in volunteering this year!

We have more than 30 slots to fill, and we had just enough volunteers last year to cover it!

Again, you are not committing to any day or time, we are just asking if you would consider volunteering for us.

You will recieve an embroidered Green NC golf shirt and a ticket for your entry into the fair. Parking will also be available across the street from the tent.

27,950 block(s) of NC GreenPower Renewable Energy purchased per month will support an annual 33,540,237 kWh of cleaner, renewable energy. This provides an annual benefit of:

  • 27,167,400 lbs of coal not used.
  • 69,793,050 lbs of emissions prevented
  • 5,368,696 trees planted (environmental equivalent from reduction of emissions)
  • 838,506 days (equivalent traditional electricity usage)

505 block(s) of NC GreenPower Carbon Offset purchased will offset a combined 252500 lbs of carbon dioxide (CO2) for each month subscribed. This is the monthly equivalent to:

  • 19423 trees planted
  • 319,813 miles not driven
  • 15564 days not driven

Total active generators as of May 31st: 198

  • Solar: 183 (including 5 large solar)
  • Wind: 7
  • Small hydroelectric: 4
  • Landfill methane gas: 3
  • Biomass – clean wood waste: 1
