Are all presentations the same?
No. While all presentations offer similar core elements and information
about the program, the NC GreenPower Speakers Bureau maintains a
variety of presentations to suit the needs of most any audience.
General presentations are divided into five primary categories:
Civic
Environmental
Faith-based
Government
Business and Industry
Schools
Most organizations that request speakers tend to fall somewhere
in or near one of these categories. But each of these presentations
can be further customized to address specific interests of the audience.
Additionally, each speaker has unique qualities that they bring
from their work experience and interests relating to renewable energy
that further color and enhance the presentation. Finally, the availability
of a wealth of presentation tools and resources made available to
each speaker makes it possible to craft an experience that is custom-designed
for each audience.
How long are the presentations?
As mentioned before, presentations can be customized to
meet the requirements of the event host. As a rule, however, the
standard presentation tends to last approximately 45-60 minutes,
including questions from the audience. This length comprises an
explanation of the necessity of renewable energy, its benefits to
North Carolinians, and a comprehensive look at the NC GreenPower
program. The presentation can be enhanced further by adding in any
number of optional elements, including the very popular video
Power Shift, an inspiring work that takes a fresh look at the
world of energy and how renewable energy provides a positive solution
to a global problem. Likewise, the presentations may also be shortened
to meet time constraints if necessary.
What technologies are required for a presentation?
Presentations can be as simple as an individual speaking
from notes to an audience, or as elaborate as large screen projection
of multimedia graphics and video. Speakers are trained to customize
their presentation to their surroundings and many of the parameters
of the presentation are determined by the capabilities of the host
organization. Typically, speakers utilize a PowerPoint presentation
conveyed via laptop directly to the audience or via LCD projection
onto a large screen or surface. For video presentation material,
if requested, a VCR or DVD player and television are required. The
speaker or coordinator will consult with you to determine which
style of presentation works best for you. But remember, no technology
is necessary to make a presentation. The Bureau will adapt to your
capabilities and provide you with an effective, informative presentation.
Is there a cost for the presentations?
No, there is no cost to secure a speaker presentation.
