NC GreenPower and You

• Your tax-deductible contributions will go directly toward the purchase of renewable energy or carbon offsets.

• You are building a cleaner energy supply, healthier environment and stronger economy for North Carolina now and for the years ahead.

• Each $4 block of 100 kWh of renewable energy subscribed monthly will annually offset:
  
  

  972 pounds of coal required to produce the same energy
  30 days of traditional fossil-fuel powered electricity
  Is the equivalent of planting 192 trees

  
  
  

• Each $4 block of 1,000 lbs* of carbon offset subscribed monthly will annually offset:
  
  

  The approximate emissions from driving 15,000 miles for a mid-sized car, about 10,000 for an SUV.
  Is like not driving for a year
  Is the equivalent of planting 923 trees

• The annual reduction of CO₂ emissions from one block of NC GreenPower subscribed monthly is equivalent to planting 192 trees. Currently, NC GreenPower supports 40 million kWh of renewable energy per year, which is enough to power more than 3,000 average homes in North Carolina.
